🌾Blessed Mabon!

Mabon is a time of reaping what we have sown. Of enjoying the fruits of our labor without taxing ourselves with worry over what comes next. The seeds we have been planting since Ostara have been tended and nurtured into the rewards of our efforts and intentions.

The colors in this whisk are meant to bring forth images of ripened fruits- pumpkins on the vine and ready to transform into pies and jack-o-lanterns. The changing colors of the plants and the setting sun, which we begin to see less a little each day. It is a time to be grateful and to consider balance in all things. Light and dark. Work and rest.

Did you know that the term Mabon was taken from the Welsh Mythological figure who is the son of Modron, a mother Goddess?

He was stolen from Modron at 3 days old, imprisoned in Caer Loyw (Gloucester).

In this folklore, King Arthur’s men free him because his hunting skill is needed to catch a magical boar- Twrch Trwyth.

Mabon is found with the help of several ancient wise animals (Ousel, Stag, Owl, Eagle, Salmon) who track his location.

Fascinating!
