Have you ever walked through the woods and really looked at the forest floor? Like really looked? Down on your knees and squatting to see all the tiny details, the minuscule worlds down there? Mosses and lichens, snails and centipedes, mushrooms and ants. All carrying on with the lives existing just in this moment?
The soft mosses and quiet carrying on of the Forest Floor inspired this whisk.
My own correspondences for this broom are as follows:
Attention and focus inward- focusing on the “small picture”. What are the little things that empower us or hold us back? What are the small signs that might be trying to get out attention? Epiphanies are rare, but nagging feelings and tuggings at our consciousness are more common than we notice.
Interconnection-there are so many living parts that make a forest, which makes an ecosystem. Which further makes the lungs of the earth. A forest is so much more than just trees.
Patience and Resilience - Mosses are so delicate and yet somehow resilient. They dessicate when conditions are dry and harsh, they look dead… but they’re just waiting. Waiting for conditions to improve. And then they reanimate. They comeback to their lush green selves. We are no different. When life is harsh and challenging, we often shrink back into a shadow of our former selves. But things always change and there will be a time when we can come back to our fullest and most vibrant selves.
