Here’s some fun folklore and correspondences I found on a recent “deep dive” into loon mythology and Magick…(see what I did there? 🤭)
🖤In New England people saw the loon as a weather prophet, its haunting sounds were thought to “call up a storm”. 
❤️ The loon also has associations with divination- their haunting vocalizations and ability to dive deep beneath the surface to see the unseen, link them to warnings and omens. 
🤍 Their remarkable diving abilities — reaching depths of 180 feet and remaining submerged for up to 15 minutes correspond them with emotional exploration and inner journey work. 
💚 The Anishinaabe see the loon as a sacred messenger, their calls resembling whispers from ancestors or spirits. 
🖤 Because the loon can travel great distances underwater, they are associated with keeping goals and plans hidden until they are fully accomplished. 
❤️ The loon’s monogamous nature and attentive parenting link them to love, faithfulness, family, and parenthood. 
Someday I will live where I can hear loons calling on the lake…So Mote It Be… 🪄
